Each July, communities across Australia come together to celebrate NAIDOC Week, a time to recognise and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year, we are proud to participate by transforming our window gallery into a vibrant showcase of Indigenous art, celebrating the creativity and cultural heritage of First Nations artists.
Why NAIDOC Week Matters
NAIDOC Week is more than an annual event—it is an opportunity for all Australians to engage with the world’s oldest continuing cultures. Through art, language, and storytelling, we gain a deeper appreciation for the resilience, strength, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Our Window Gallery Exhibition
To mark this important week, our window gallery will feature artworks created by Indigenous artist Thomas Avery, each piece offering a unique perspective on Country, identity, and tradition. The collection includes his Original paintings and prints that reflect deep connections to land and ancestral knowledge.
By placing these artworks in our front window, we hope to spark conversations, inspire curiosity, and encourage everyone who passes by to reflect on the rich cultural tapestry that surrounds us.
Supporting Indigenous Creatives
We believe that supporting Indigenous artists goes beyond displaying their work. It’s about recognising their sovereignty, valuing their voices, and contributing to economic opportunities for communities. All works on display are available for purchase, with proceeds going directly to the artists.
