Frame FAQ

Corban & Blair frames are hand made from plantation timber in New Zealand. The frames are carbon neutral.

Aided by the Carbon Reduction Institute, Corban & Blair has stepped up its commitment to the environment by buying carbon credits to offset emissions produced in the manufacture of our frames. The money raised goes towards land regeneration.

You can purchase a frame and have a new mat cut to take your image. Picture framers offer this service for a small fee.

Frames can be hung on a wall with adhesive hanging strips, hooks or with screws and string. Box frames can stand freely.

Not all of our frames have stands on the back. The following frames have stands:

  • Block frames

The following frames do not have stands:

  • Box frames
  • Slim Box frames
  • Shadow Box frames
  • Certificate frames

Yes – the mats in the frames are acid free.

We don’t have other mats for our frames. Photo framers can cut a mat for your frame for a minimal fee.

Album FAQ

You can attach your photos with our archival photostickers which go on the back of each photo.

All of our albums, except the Baby Hands albums, have black pages. The Baby Hands albums have white pages. There is interleaving between each page in the albums to protect the images.

Large albums have 25 pages and medium and small albums have 20 pages. We recommend only adding another 10 pages to an album so it does not become too bulky and the covers sit flat.

Our album pages are acid free.

Portfolio FAQ

Our portfolios consist of a front and back cover, held together with 10 mm interscrews. You can put plastic sleeves or pages in the portfolios.

Corban & Blair portfolios are made in Sydney, Australia.

Our clear plastic sleeves are sold in sets of 10. The screws included in the portfolio are 10 mm and will take 10 sleeves. The number of pages you can put in a portfolio depends on the thickness of the paper and we have longer interscrews available to purchase.

No. If you purchase sleeves from elsewhere you need to check the measurements to make sure they fit our portfolios. There can be variation in sizes of plastic sleeves.

You can use a standard 2 hole or 4 hole punch to put holes in your pages. The other option is to purchase a pack of Bantex self adhesive filing strips to bind the pages into the portfolio. They are available from Officeworks.

Thick card can make turning the pages in the portfolio difficult. You will need to buy the self adhesive filing strips from Officeworks to bind your work into the portfolio.

Silver and brass interscrews are available in 6 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm and are sold individually.
