Window Gallery – Rob Davis

Rob Davis: From Journalism to Collage Art at No.4 Window Gallery

With a degree in Indonesian and Malayan Studies, and Japanese, from the University of Sydney, Rob started out as a journalist in Hong Kong in the 1970s, writing about business and politics in Southeast Asia for an international audience.

Back in Australia he established a freelance writing and editing business and enjoyed a long career writing for a range of clients in both public and private sectors.

He has won awards for scriptwriting and copywriting.

His life took a new turn when he began making collage images reflecting his appreciation of the light and colours he encounters in daily life, leading to invitations to exhibit his work. His biggest influences, he says, are Japanese woodblock prints and the work of British artist David Hockney.

For the first time Rob is offering collage originals for sale, in addition to glicee prints on archival art paper.
