Leather Guest Book

Client: Alistair

This handmade leather guest book was made for Alistair. The guest book is made from genuine leather and blind blocked with their logo. The spine is created by half cutting the leather to create a fold. The guest book is held by a brass spine. Exquisitely handcrafted from genuine leather, this folder will leave a lasting impression on any guest who leaves a message on the book.

A5 Recycled Leather Journal with digital print

Client: Actionlaser

This journal is made from quality recycled leather, made from leather offcuts collected from the European shoe and handbag industry. The journal’s front print has been digitally printed onto its surface, while the logo has been blind-blocked on the inside pocket. The refillable pad is made from 100% de-inked recycled post-consumer waste collected from offices throughout Australia.

Corporate Gifts: A5 Journal

Client: Liberty

These Journals were custom made for Liberty in collaboration with Studio A artist Damian Showyin. Damian Showyin’s paintings are like abstracted windows. Oblong shapes of deep, layered colours seem to hold whispered secrets. With acrylic, oil pastel, chalk pastel and posca, mostly on paper, Damian has developed his own personal language; one of patterns and braided shapes. He delights in the teeming and tight harmony of the buildings, fences and gardens he inhabits and is surrounded by. Liberty has proudly supported Studio A for over 10 years. Studio A is a supported studio based in Sydney Australia that tackles the barriers artists with intellectual disability face in accessing conventional education, professional development pathways and opportunities needed to be successful and renowned visual artists. The enterprise paves professional pathways for such artists so that they can achieve their artistic and economic aspirations.

These corporate gifts were made for Liberty in collaboration with Studio A artists Catherine McGuiness. Catherine is a fearless and frenzied creative. In any one of her pieces, a hundred marks and overlaps might sit beneath her signature. In painting, Catherine is constantly scraping, wiping out, and flooding the canvas with colour. On the page, she uses acrylic and posca to draw shimmering webs of dots and lines. Sometimes a bird or bridge takes shape – other times, she gives herself over completely to abstraction. Liberty has proudly supported Studio A for over 10 years. Cosmetic Pouch

Client: International Women’s Forum (IWF)

This pouch was made for the speaker’s gift for the International Women’s Forum (IWF) Cornerstone Conference Helsinki 2023. Corban & Blair collaborated with the Social Outfit and First Nations artist Lucy Simpson to create this custom-made pouch.

The outside pouch artwork was designed by First Nations artist Lucy Simpson from Gaawaa Miyay Designs. The pouch features a leather patch with a gold foiled IWF logo and orange lining inspired by their logo colour. The pouch was made by The Social Outfit, a fashion and textile social enterprise based in Sydney. The zip and lining were also donated by the organisation.

The Social Outfit is a fashion and textiles social enterprise based in Sydney, Australia. The organisation provides employment and training opportunities to refugees and new migrants and uses surplus and donated fabrics from local fashion houses to create high-quality, sustainable fashion products.

Lucy Simpson is a contemporary First Nations artist and designer from the Yuwaalaraay community in North Western New South Wales, Australia. Her design for the conference gift is inspired by the rivers of her country. The result is a unique design that reflects the beauty and diversity of Indigenous art and culture.

Boxes collected from the streets of Sydney and re-purposed into notebooks filled with 100% recycled paper stock. Made by Corban & Blair for Ball & Doggett. 

Ball & Doggett are Australia’s largest distributor of printable material and press consumables. They were looking for a gifting solution that highlighted the importance of sustainability within their industry which was gifted to attendees of the Women in Packaging forum.
